At the September 28, 2009 Board meeting it was decided to increase membership fees to $20 per person or $40 per family. This does not even come close to paying the insurance we have to have for both Vanguard and the Jubilee. If the increase causes hardship for anyone, please speak to Beth or Roy.
Most of our costs are increasing either a little or a lot; we felt we had to try to cover some of our costs by more than just increasing ticket pricing.
Hello everyone,
The world wide web is a wonderful place. As a theatre company, we are able to share a lot of useful information about ourselves with a much broader audience. However, as everyone knows, the internet is often bristling with potential breaches to security.
Unfortunately, our site is not entirely immune from attack. We do everything that we can to make sure that our site is secure and safe for everyone. We would kindly ask that you keep your eyes open for anything that seems awry. If something isn't working properly or seems out of place, please let us know immediately so that we can try to fix any problems before they get out of hand.
You can email us by using the "Contact" links at the top of the page. However, if the site is down entirely, and you need to get ahold of me, I will be at practice on Sundays.
Thanks for your cooperation! God bless!
Your Webmaster,
Roy Matheson
A Note from the
Many thanks to Cast, Orchestra and Crew for another stunning season of LOVE According to JOHN. The music carried the show, as always. But the mobs of people also have a great impact, especially in the finale.
Audience comments praise the color and authenticity of the costumes. They also appreciate the adherence to Scripture of our script. Most of them enjoyed the experiences of being transported into the scenes. Many felt that they had actually
I felt that there was a greater attempt on the part of Cast on stage to stay in character and to focus themselves and thereby the audience on the scenes as they unfolded. Many thanks to the instructors of our workshops Bill Roberts and
We were concerned about the loss of many of our stalwart Crew members who were not available this year, including Jonathan Trott, who experienced a severe heart attack on the morning when we moved into the Jubilee. But the Lord is so good, and always caring about our needs. Jonathan had his heart attack next door to one of the foremost heart treatment hospitals, certainly in
The Lord didn’t stop with that miracle. He sent Dianna Van Leeuwen to help us out and she was able to cover for Jonathan during the show. Furthermore, the Lord sent new Crew members, mostly family members of our precious Cast, who did a superb job in the place of our departing Crew. I know that I speak, not only for myself, but also for the board when I extend our heartfelt thanks for the terrific job they did under
Our attendance was disappointing. It had to do with Spring Break. So many people go away at that time. We even suffered the loss of faithful technicians who were away for the break And we suffered the loss of our school shows. But Beth tells me that she already has schools wanting to come next year. Well done again, Beth!
A few of our cast will be presenting some scenes from LOVE According to JOHN as part of a Multicultural Performance in the U of A Campus Saint Jean (
The theatre is nice, an amphitheatre, but not large: 230 seats. So if you come, be early, or you won’t get a seat.
M. June Hunt,

Another year of Love According to John has come to an end and now we begin with the next project: Christmas Choral
The Love According to John production this year was a great success again.
The help from our sponsors this year, Shine FM and
I would like to thank all who helped the production this year whether it was on stage or behind the scenes.

Every week help is needed to unload and load the trailer with the black boxes and props. If you can help please be at rehearsal at 1:30. It takes 1/2 hour to load the trailer.
We know that the set crew has been diligent in having carpet at the bottom of all our black boxes, but everyone who helps load and unload into and from the trailer will have to be careful in how they handle the black boxes, the prop boxes, and the various other commodities that come with our supplies to ensure they do not scratch the gym floor.
