At the September 28, 2009 Board meeting it was decided to increase membership fees to $20 per person or $40 per family. This does not even come close to paying the insurance we have to have for both Vanguard and the Jubilee. If the increase causes hardship for anyone, please speak to Beth or Roy.

Most of our costs are increasing either a little or a lot; we felt we had to try to cover some of our costs by more than just increasing ticket pricing.

Little Girl Lost

Written by Dan Bagan                                                                                           Words and Music by Dan Bagan

Little Girl Lost  was  first written  and  performed in  Edmonton at Laurier Heights Baptist Church in  1993  and  then  expanded  and  performed  in 1994.  Author  and composer, Dan Bagan has chosen Athabasca for the  world premiere of the 2009/10 revised, published version of  his  musical play and after this run Little Girl Lost will be available to the world for both actors  to perform and audiences to enjoy.  Already theatre companies have  expressed interest in performing  this show, including The Stage West dinner theatre chain!

About the Author/Composer

Dan Bagan is  a singer, songwriter, screenwriter, author, composer, teacher, director, conductor,

vocal clinician, producer, and rancher (yes you read that right) .He and his wife Wendy, live on

their ranch near the town of Rochester along with 14 horses one dog and one cat. The people and

town of  Athabasca (and regions) have inspired  him to  get  back to  one of  his  first loves  -  the

theatre.  “The talent in  this area is second to none!” says Dan and  what  he thoroughly  enjoys is

taking the novice actor to a level of professionalism everyone can be proud of.

About the Play

Little Girl Lost takes place in  the fictitious suburb of Burlinton in some part of North America   where the  winter nights are  just above freezing.  Our story centers around a strong-willed 9yr old named Amanda who, when she overhears she  isn’t going to get the  doll she wants for Christmas,  punishes her  parents by running away two days before  the big day. She gets on an express bus and ends up downtown where she is befriended by a little street girl named Katie, who talks her into coming home  with her. Little  does Amanda  know that “home,”is an  old  abandoned  church  where a  street-gentleman and  bag lady with Alzheimer’s take care of a  large family of  street-kids.   In a delightful harmony of characters, subplots & unforgettable songs Amanda and the entire cast experience the true meaning of Christmas.

Another year of Love According to John has come to an end and now we begin with the next project:  Christmas Choral

The Love According to John production this year was a great success again.

The help from our sponsors this year, Shine FM and CTS TV, gave us a great boost in the number of people attending. But we cannot forget that without our cast promoting the show we would not have had the success that we did.

I would like to thank all who helped the production this year whether it was on stage or behind the scenes.
